Friction Between Christians Today

Our SS quarterly has: “We believe the Bible has…truth, without any mixture of error for its matter.”
Michael Whitehead, presiding lawyer for the SBC, explained, “Those words means the truth of the Bible is true and the untruth of the Bible is untrue.” He continued, “That’s why we added, ‘and that all Scripture is totally true and trustworthy.”

The Word of God or Scripture is perfect without error.
Any untruth recorded in the Bible is not Scripture but words of the devil such as “You will not die.”
Because the Bible gives an account of untruth, does not make those words truth.
Example:
“And the Lord was even angry with me because of them and said to me, You shall not enter the Promise Land.” (Deut. 1:37 3:26 4:21)
If Moses had said, ‘because I sinned’ his words would have been true.
His repeating it is the devils way of ‘deceit repeated equals truth defeated.’
Moses deceit is revealed in Numbers 20:12, 23 27:14.
Fundamentalists say if you believe the Bible has untruth, you are a non-Bible believer. This arguing was started by two prominent fundamentalists who decided they could take over the SBC with the political platform of the Bible being inerrant.
Any opposing their platform were called moderates and liberals.
They won by ‘deceit repeated equals truth defeated.’

All translations have the ruler’s daughter dead in Matthew except the Holman Bible has her alive which agrees with Mark and Luke.
Their changing untruth into truth reveals they know their inerrancy is only a political platform.
Fundamentalists have a man-made paper as our doctrinal guideline instead of the Bible.
A committee, with approval of the SBC, tells what Scripture means instead of the Holy Spirit.
It is a mandatory creed that must be signed before working for them.
In a way it is a form of what 666 will be.
Fundamentalists interpret Scripture that prevents Christians from being free to accept God’s call to preach the Gospel.
This is like disciples telling Jesus to stop others from healing in his name. “You will know the truth and the truth will set you free.” (John 8:32)
Christ shows freedom for women when Martha asked Jesus for Mary to help her, “There is really only one thing worth being concerned about. Mary has discovered it, and I won’t take it away from her!” (Luke 10:42)
Mary was free to listen to Jesus or any call from God. Fundamentalists would tell Mary to get in the kitchen where she belonged.
Fundamentalists should heed, “If what they teach and do is merely on their own, it will soon be overthrown. But if it is of God, you will not be able to stop them, less you find yourselves fighting even against God.” (Acts 5:38)
Paul was unable to stop the majority and the results were Catholic.

Looks like the day is coming when the majority will require every member of a church in the SBC to sign the 2000 BF&M.
By then, who knows how many man-made legalistic commands there will be, but they won’t be Baptist freedom in Christ.
If we don’t learn from history will we repeat it?
Early Christians wrote a letter, similarly to our BF&M, establishing how Gentiles kept their salvation.
Christ’s free gift was not mentioned, but leaders said food rules were essential.
Christ said it was not what entered the stomach that defiled a man.
The rule that women not preach takes away the autonomy of the church and the priesthood of the believer.
Christian leaders with twisted doctrine will make false rules as Christ said, “Many will come in my name, saying I am Christ, and shall deceive many.” (Mark 13:6)

Our hope is the majority will learn truth and stop excommunicating moderates and work together to win souls for God.

Rex,
you said "Years ago, I said, “The CBF is trying to win the world to Christ; why do you dislike them so?” and he responded
“They’re getting money that should be coming to us!”
--------------------------
I had this same experience. I don't remember the guys name but he was from Texas. There was a great revival that broke out where he was pastor, (Brownsville??) anyway the SBC big shots were taing him all over the country as an example of "See, God really is working in SBC churches"
His and my conversation was EXACTLY WHAT YOU SAID he actually said he hated the CBF because "THEY ARE TAKIING OUR MONEY" to which I replied "who's money?"

I’m glad to hear your story. I’m sure it was not the same man as we were working on a church in Tennessee, but the jealousy of the heart sound the same.

Sorry for the long time in replying. You’re the first person to write in months and months, so I don’t check very often.

Thank you.
