False Doctrine Resulted in 'Lording'

“...false teachers...bring long letters of recommendation...[fromJames?] (2 Cor. 3:1)
“...they make you their slaves...take advantage of you,put on airs, and slap you in the face.” (2 Cor. 11:20)
Paul challenged their doctrine: “...we do not tell them they must obeyevery law of God or die...the old way, trying to be saved bykeeping the Ten Commandments ends in death.” (2 Cor. 3:6)

The first ‘lording’ was at Antioch:
“...when some Jewish friends of James came, he [Peter] wouldn’t eat with the Gentiles anymore because he was afraid of what these Jewish legalist, who insisted that circumcision was necessary for salvation, would say.” (Gal. 2:12)
James admits sending them:
“...certain went out from us have troubled you...saying, Ye must be circumcised, and keep the law;to whom we gave no such commandment.” (Acts 15:24)
James dodged responsibility. If they had double-crossed James, why didn’t James say what their mission was?
These men went back to the church believing James and the church would prove them right.
Life Jackets preached laws to all of Paul’s churches.
Paul caught this group but they argued with him. Why was Peter afraid of them?
Was it because they were sent by the Just and a church that had raked him over the coals once before? (Acts 11:2, 3)
If this were not the case, the churches of Antioch and Jerusalem would have laughed in their face.
Instead, a church council was formed.
Ex-Pharisees and the multitude backed these men until Peter’s speech. James jumped to the winning side by not insisting on circumcision.
He was willing to lose one battle but his judgmentfor Gentiles to obey four laws won the war of law vs. gift.
Eight years after his letter was sent to the Gentiles, James told Paul, “As for the Gentile Christians, we aren’t asking them to follow these Jewish customs at all, except for the ones we wrote to them...” (Acts 21:25)

James’ letter was still the same and probably didn’t get a PS until after he was martyred in 63 AD.
Pharisees at the church council had not changed their views and their patience had worn thin.
James was a thorn in their side. The ‘fuller’ who killed James, was a member of his church.
Had the ‘fuller’ decided it was past time for his bunch to get on with that PS?
By 90 AD when 3 John was written, the elders controlled the Jerusalem church.
There is not 100% proof who wrote 3 John.
Harper’s Bible Dictionary: “James and John the sons of Zebedeewere killed by the Jews before 70 A.D. and this would corroborate Jesus’ prophecy of their deaths in Mark 10:39.”
History records John was boiled in oil but tradition has him surviving.
After his brother’s easy death, why was John’s so cruel?
To avenge his brother, had this Son of Thunder shook his fist in the king’s face while calling fire from heaven?
If John died before 70 AD, he couldn’t have written First, Second, and Third John in 90 AD.
Historian, Papias, listed men he learned the Gospel from; “Andrew ...John...and John the Elder.
The Elder use to say...”Looks like John the Elder could be identified as ‘The Elder’ and that’s how 2 John and 3 John are identified.
Why would anyone use ‘elder’ if he was an apostle? That would be like Clinton referring to himself as governor instead of president.

Papias continues: “Traditions derived from John the Elder...”
Oh, Oh, did this John help get more traditions as a PS to James letter?
Would a Christian say wicked things to an apostle, or to an elder pushing laws and a different way of salvation other than Paul’s?
3 John shows lording: “Some of the brothers traveling by... [Sounds like those who Paul called spies.] telling me that your life stays clean and true and that you are living by the standards of the Gospel. [According to Life Jackets?]
They have told the church...” (3 John 1:3-6)
I sent a brief letter to the church about this, [Was elder also a spy?] but proud Diotrephes [non-Catholic?] ...does not admit my authority over him and refuses to listen to me.” (3 John 1:9)
Where did Jesus say one believer would have authority over another?
Strong’s Study Bible: “Diotrephes resisted the authority of the elders in the church.
He attacked them publicly, and forbade the reception of John and his adherents.”
Did these adherents have letters of recommendation like the men who taught the Corinthians: “...to obey every law of God or die”?
Diotrephes refused to join the stampede to obey laws. Did he believe Paul’s writings? “Many...say that ‘all Christians must obey the Jewish laws’...it blinds people to the truth, and it must be stopped.” (Titus 1:10)
No wonder he attacked the church elders publicly.
He was yelling for them to keep their bloody knives to themselves, you wicked--dangerous dogs!
Did he follow Paul’s advice:
“Let God’s curse fall on anyone...who preaches any other way to be saved...if an angel comes from heaven and preaches any other message, let him be forever cursed.” (Gal. 1:8)
Was Elder teaching: “Beware of... losing the prize [Heaven?] that you and I have been working so hard to get [Faith plus works?]...if you wander beyond the teaching of Christ [Elder’s traditions?] you will leave God behind [going to hell?] .” (2 John 1:8-10)
“When I come I will tell you some of the things he is doing and what wicked things he is saying about me and what insulting language he is using. He not only refuses to welcome the missionary travelers...” (3 John 1:10)
That’s it in a nutshell:
Elder called his adherents ‘missionaries’but Paul called Christians who taught circumcision, "wicked-dangerous dogs."

Did Elder report a church split by some rejecting his traditions? “They went out from us...If they had beenof us, they no doubt would have continued with us...” (1 John 2:19)
Could the definition of “us” be Catholic roots? This was years after the second bishop of Antioch, Ignatius, was having people look upon bishops as the Lord himself.
