"Necessary Things" Had Their Effect

Paul was dismayed:
“Did you receive the Holy Spirit by keeping the Jewish laws...have you gone completely crazy?” (Gal. 3:2,3)
“You are following a different ‘way to heaven’ that doesn’t go to heaven at all.” (Gal. 1:6)
“...now that God has found you, how can it be that you want to go back...to another poor, weak, useless religion of trying to get to heaven by obeying God’s laws? You are trying to find favor with God by what you do or don’t do on certain days or months or seasons...I fear for you.” (Gal. 4:9-11)

I believe those early Christians who obeyed rules became proud and lost their first love.
This caused Jesus to say, “Go back to what you heard and believed at first...I will spue thee out of my mouth.” (Rev. 3:3,16)
By obeying Jewish laws, Gentiles were like a herd of cattlestampeding toward a cliff.
“If trying to obey the Jewish lawsnever gave you spiritual life in the first place, why do you think that trying to obey them now will make you stronger Christians? (Gal. 2:3)

Paul tried to turn the herd: “Watch out for those wicked men--dangerous dogs who say you must be circumcised to be saved.” (Phil. 3:2)
Paul yelled at men he had taught non-Catholic beliefs but most were deceived into going over the cliff.
